Jun 4, 2023 · This colossal alligator holds the distinction of being the heaviest one ever legally hunted in the U.S. It was discovered in the Alabama River, northwest of Montgomery. The incredible feat of capturing this behemoth was accomplished by hunter Mandy Stokes and her dedicated crew, including her husband, brother-in-law, and his two teenage children. Close to a year ago, Mandy Stokes and her crew from Thomaston caught a world record 15-foot, 90-inch, 1011.5 pound alligator a few miles outside of the Dallas County line. The prized gator is now on display at the Central Alabama Farmers Co-Op in Selma. The alligator was caught Aug. 16, 2014, in Mill Creek, a tributary off the Alabama River.WOW!
